ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The goal of this work that design 6 visually engaging classification posters that show an understanding of typography and principles of design. Each poster has a different type face, with information about that type's classification in the world of typography as well a brief history. The elements on each poster are made using the letters of that poster's typeface. This creates a complete design using only a single alphabet for all content, both written and designed.

My process for this project was using the characters from the chosen font as the main design elements, making them the focus of the poster. Some characters overlap and fit into each other, creating something visually appealing and less rigid than blocks of text on a page. With the character’s dominance on the poster, the additional information required for the poster is placed in the negative space of the characters. All the information is placed intentionally with an awareness of promotion, weight, and its relationship to neighboring elements.
