ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Hop harvest Festival is a non-fictional event that is held every year at the Sierra Nevada Brewery. The festival invites 50 different companies from the country to show case one of their brews for attendees to sample. I wanted this project to be focus on branding items related to the festival.

I began by researching the event online, and getting an idea of what the current branding was for the festival. I have also been to this festival myself, and based on my research and what I saw, the aesthetic of the event felt organic and outdoorsy. I began by making the logotype and started with pencil sketches.  once I made a typeface I liked I added the ornamentation to reference the harvest time as well as beer with the hops and wheat. I then created the promotional poster, using natural colors for the palette as well as visuals that evoke an organic aesthetic. Based on the poster, I created the other printed materials, so there was a relationship between them. This way it’s clear they are a unit for the same event.
